Hello and Welcome to The 70's Preservation Society website. This site is dedicated to the Music and Memories
of the 70's. I started my radio career in January 1969 after three years in the Army and a year in Vietnam. I met my wife Sweet Loretta in 1969 and we were married two years later. So you see why the 70's mean a lot to me, not only was I starting a new career but a family too. J.J. was born two years later and Michael 5 years after that.
In these pages you'll find some things that I've always liked to do, like following the record
charts. Each week we'll have a list of the music at the top of the charts this week in the 70's. Just go to Week In Music. I was playing this music on the radio then. What a trip it is to see that its popularity is still strong.
We will also have a page setup covering the Academy Award Winning Movies and the Top 10 T.V. shows for each year.
This might loosen up some of your memories, so be sure to let us know about the movies and T.V. shows that were your
favorites.
If you'd like to get a Great T-shirt or give a great gift, be sure to click on the 70's Preservation Society T-shirt store. If your looking for some of those great 70's Posters, you can probably find them in our Poster Store. The latest addition to our stores is the Magnet Store. Everyone needs 70's magnets for your family fridge and you can probably find your favorites in our Magnet Store....
The links page is exceptional, featuring sites put together just for the sake of celebrating the 70's. Be sure to check them all out because there is a wealth of information to be had about the 70's from a personal perspective.
Enjoy your visit to the 70's Preservation Society website and be sure to check back often for updates. Oh yea, be sure to sign our guestbook while your here and be sure to let your friends know about The 70's Preservation Society. Thanks for visiting. Jim Thomas
